CONTEST RULES

OBJECTIVE OF THIS CONTEST:
These awards recognize excellence in a variety of categories including best local community initiative, best site layout/overall design, best advertising initiative, best use of social media, best multimedia site and others. LMA also honors the best Local Community Web site and the Local Digital Innovator of the Year.

ELIGIBILITY:
All submissions require a written overview/description of your entry (4500 characters or less) and should include any measurable results, reader feedback or information that would be helpful to the judges.

For entries that include initiatives that are not live on your current site, the contest eligibility period is March 1, 2014 through February 1, 2015. If your entry does not appear on your site during the judging period but qualifies because it was available during the eligibility period, please provide a web link for the judges to review (examples could be a holiday advertising initiative, election time polls, contests, photo galleries and much more).

Judges will randomly visit your site during May 2015. You can also provide a Web link for these categories to support any specific creative efforts that may not be live during the judging period (such as virtual job fairs conducted, the handling of breaking news or anything that supports your entry). Please eliminate login roadblocks for the judges*.

*If your website requires registration or subscription, please provide a username and password for all the judges to use.

DEADLINE:
All entries and payments must be received no later than midnight on May 13, 2015. Entries received after the entry deadline will not be accepted.

Entries must be submitted online via the contest entry form. Paper entries will NOT be accepted.

FEES:
Local media company fees are $45 for the first entry plus $35 for each additional entry from the same company. Refunds will not be given for entries that have been disqualified for failure to follow contest rules.

JUDGES:
The panel of judges will include digital consultants and other leaders in the newspaper online publishing world.

WINNERS:
Winners will be recognized via press releases, member emails and in Local Media Association’s monthly newsletter, Local Media Today. Local Media Association reserves the right to publish the names of the winners and display and publish samples of any entry received for promotional and/or educational purposes.

ENTRIES:
Local Media Association reserves the right to use contest entries in various LMA related media including social platforms and printed material to spotlight different ideas and provide positive press on the industry.
