ENTRY CLASSIFICATIONS - Determine what class you fit in

A.) Newspapers ONLY Classifications:
Entries must be entered in the circulation class based only on the circulation of the individual newspaper in which the entry appeared. If an entry was published in multiple newspapers, it must be submitted in a circulation class matching the combined circulation of all those newspapers. Entries must be submitted in their correct circulation class or will be disqualified.

Unless otherwise noted, circulation classes are broken out as follows:

**NON-DAILY NEWSPAPERS** (Publishes 3 times per week or less)
Class A: Up to 50,000 (non-daily)
Class B: Over 50,001 (non-daily)

**DAILY NEWSPAPERS** (Publishes 4 times per week or more)
Class C: Up to 25,000 (daily)
Class D: Over 25,001 (daily)

NOTE: There are also several newspaper-only categories that combine all circulation classes. Categories 16, 20, 22, 28 and 101, 102 and 103 (Special Awards) are judged as All Circulation Classes Combined. The judges have been instructed to evaluate these entries based on the individual category description as it would relate to all size publications.

B.) All Local Media Companies:
Many of the contest categories are now open to all local media companies (print, broadcast, digital, etc). These categories (#101 thru #14) are noted in the category descriptions as (Open To All Local Media Companies). Judges will award winners in these categories regardless of the platform

It is vital to the integrity of the contest that you choose the correct circulation class in which to enter. If you have any questions, please contact LMA Headquarters at 888-486-2466 or hq@localmedia.org.
